Antique original world war two WW2. Type 30 Japanese WWII Rifle Bayonet. Mid war production - all early features except for the straight cross guard. Toyoda Loom Works - under contract by the Nagoya Arsenal.

This has all the features of an early-war manufactured bayonet - blued blade, metal scabbard, full fullers on blade ,'bird head' pommel; early screw grip fasteners on the contoured wooden grips. Designed for the type 99 arisaka rifle...

But also issued & used for the type 38 too. Variation of a type 30 bayonet. And one of the KEY bayonets of any collection. The blued blade shows signs of very little use - typical wear..

But no post war sharpening or grinding marks. The wooden grips have a few minor dents & dings , but were never sanded down or messed with. The sheath is clean and smooth -no dents at all...
