Old Needle Nose MAREK Maker Estate True Dagger Knife 6.25 Blade with Median Line
Old Needle Nose MAREK Maker Estate True Dagger Knife 6.25 Blade w/ Median Line... Probably made from a file. This is a true dagger, approx 10 OAL. The blade is edged on both sides w/ median line, acute tip, Marek style gray pebbled patina, tiny pitting scars, a little rust here and there, uncleaned, as found, measures about 10 OAL. The handle is nicely tapered, held w/ 5 small pins, old wood (I think it is rosewood) in excellent shape, no remarkable damage. Note the anchored oval guard. This is the sort of knife that was sometimes (back in the day) called a "prostitute's knife", or gambler's dirk. More Marek made knives now listed. Robert Marek, (2015) knife maker, blacksmith, artist, lived in Berkeley, CA.
He made quality knives that often appeared from another era. This knife came from his estate, which was featured on the tv show, Strange Inheritances.
