HENCKELS GERMANY (with the 2 dudes) is stamped on the blade. This old knife is in pretty nice shape for its age.
I don't see any breaks or cracks in the handles. The bolsters do have some nicks and small scratches. The spring has some deep age pitting. The spacer in the bottom does have some cracking but seems to be solid still. One of the liners has some movement so there is probably some sort of pitting or rust between the liner and the scales to cause it to not be perfectly flush in that area.
You can see it by looking at the back of the backspring. If you look from the closing side it looks fine. The knife still has snap and the closing lever works well. The very tip is gone.
Should file out easy but I didn't want to mess with it. There is a chip in the lower half of the blade, which should also sharpen out. It looks if someone might have given it a couple whacks with a stone at one time towards the front of the blade, also something that should sharpen out.I don't think anyone ever really got down and sharpened this old guy. The blade does have some of the mirror finish left if you can see past the deep tarnish. And the knife is used some you can see some scratches from use and some I think may be from someone trying to clean the rust. Nothing that deep, this knife should clean up real nice in my opinion.
